Kiwitub in the mountains
The tub is on the Pisa Range in Central Otago, on John and Mary Lee's Snow Farm cross country skiing area.
That’s Mt. Aspiring in the background near the flue. This was in winter 2004, and the burner with its red insulation jacket has been superseded by an improved model, but we keep using the shot because it was such a great day...and night, with crystal clear southern skies and local wine.
The tub’s 93mm (nearly 4 in.) of insulation means it handles the cold easily. It's MUCH better than a traditional wooden hot tub, with 40mm thick timber walls.
